Los Tarrales Natural Reserve is located on the southern slopes of the Atitlán Volcano in Guatemala’s Pacific foothills, approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from Guatemala City and Antigua Guatemala, and about 1.5 hours from Panajachel on Lake Atitlán.

Most guests arrive by private vehicle, rental car, or private transportation service. Under normal weather conditions, the reserve is accessible with a standard passenger vehicle, and a four-wheel-drive vehicle is not required.

For guests who prefer not to drive, Los Tarrales is happy to schedule your transport with our network of trusted transportation providers. These independent drivers offer transfers from Guatemala City, La Aurora International Airport, Antigua Guatemala, Lake Atitlán, and other destinations throughout the country. We recommend arranging transportation in advance, particularly during holidays and peak travel periods.
